Purge Valve
The purge valve controls when stored fuel vapors enter the intake manifold.
What it does
Opens under computer control so fuel vapors can be burned at the right time.
Failure signs
- Hard starting after refueling
- Rough idle
- EVAP codes
- Fuel smell
- Stalling at idle
Maintenance notes
- Do not replace the valve without checking hoses and wiring.
- A stuck-open valve can act like a vacuum leak.
- Confirm flow direction and connector fitment.
