Engine Mounts
Engine mounts hold the engine and transmission in position while isolating vibration.
What it does
Limit drivetrain movement during idle, acceleration, braking, and gear changes.
Failure signs
- Vibration at idle
- Clunk when shifting
- Engine moves excessively
- Harsh vibration in gear
- Jerking during acceleration
Maintenance notes
- Inspect mounts for collapsed rubber, leaking hydraulic fluid, or metal contact.
- Do not assume all idle vibration is a misfire.
- Check mounts after impact or when vibration changes in gear.
