Cooling System
The cooling system moves heat from the engine to the radiator and cabin heater.
What it does
Maintains safe engine temperature with coolant, thermostat, radiator, fans, hoses, and pump.
Failure signs
- Overheating
- Coolant smell
- Low coolant
- Poor heater output
- Steam from engine bay
Maintenance notes
- Check coolant level only when safe.
- Use the correct coolant type.
- Pressure test leaks instead of repeatedly topping up.
