Brake Fluid
Brake fluid transfers pedal force through the hydraulic brake system.
What it does
Carries hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder to calipers, wheel cylinders, and ABS components.
Failure signs
- Soft brake pedal
- Brake warning light
- Fluid leak
- Long stopping distance
- Low fluid reservoir
Maintenance notes
- Use only the fluid type specified on the reservoir cap or service information.
- Low fluid often means leaks or worn brake friction material.
- Do not drive with a sinking pedal or active brake fluid leak.
