P0141 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

P0141 means the downstream oxygen sensor heater circuit on bank 1 has a fault.

What it means

The catalyst monitor sensor may warm up too slowly or fail heater checks.

Common symptoms

  • Check engine light
  • Usually normal driving
  • Failed emissions test
  • Possible P0420
  • No obvious symptom

Likely causes

  • Failed sensor heater
  • Blown fuse
  • Wiring damage
  • Poor connector
  • Exhaust heat damage

First checks

  • Inspect the downstream sensor wiring.
  • Check heater circuit power and ground.
  • Look for blown fuses caused by wiring shorts.
  • Avoid confusing this with a catalyst failure by itself.
